David J. Goldsmith graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison (Magna Cum Laude) in 1982 and from the American University, Washington College of Law in 1985. He also earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the State University of New York, Oswego in 2023. After graduation from law school, he was employed by Fine, Finkelstein, Olin & Anderman, P.C., representing claimants before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board as well as before the Social Security Administration. Mr. Goldsmith joined the firm in June 1988 and became a partner in 1993.
Mr. Goldsmith has argued before the Appellate Division, Third Department, on matters dealing with workers’ compensation and frequently lectures on workers’ compensation issues in multiple forums. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Society of New York Workers’ Compensation Bar Association from 1994 until 2024 and served as President from 2012 to 2014. He is a member of the New York Self Insured Association, the New York Claims Association and the Long Island Claims Association. He is also the New York Qualifying Officer for multiple third-party administrators. Currently, Mr. Goldsmith serves as managing partner of the firm.
